Travel from Montreux to Interlaken by Golden Pass Line

by Suja

Arriving at Geneva airport and plan to leave for Montreux on the same day with bags, after which we plan to leave for Chillon.

Is it a long wait to buy the Swiss saver pass at the station itself, and is it possible to keep bags at Montreux for a visit to Chillon castle?

Is it necessary to reserve tickets by the Golden Pass Line while travelling from Montreux to Interlaken Ost on the same day of arrival at Geneva?

Since travelling with bags, is the transfer to a different train at Zweisimmen possible? There is not much wait time at Zweisimmen when there is a change of platform and train. Hence this question arises.

Travel from Montreux to Interlaken by Golden Pass Line

Hello Suja,

I can't predict how long the waiting time will be at Geneva Airport to buy a Swiss Pass - it really depends on the date and time you arrive. If you travel during touristy months you'd have to expect some waiting time.

There are lockers at Montreux train station. Have coins ready (CHF 1, 2 and 5). You can continue to Castle Chillon by bus or boat.

It is necessary to make a reservation on the Golden Pass Line. And do not wait until you arrive in Switzerland or you could risk not getting a seat.

Zweisimmen is a small train station, and changing trains - even with bags - is not a problem. Everything is well marked.
