Site and Privacy Policies
Hi, I am Fida Wild, owner and publisher of the Insider Guide to Switzerland - SwissVistas.com. Your privacy is as important to me as it is to you!
I value my own privacy when I visit other people's websites, so I understand how important this is to you. I am dedicated to protecting your data and privacy.
I have taken steps under the General Data Protection Regulation to make sure any information you give to me is secure, only seen by people who need to see it, and within your control.
I maintain the highest standards of honesty and fairness in everything I write for this website, and I apply exactly the same standards when I deal with the information you trust me with.
I recognize that your privacy is important. This document outlines the types of personal information I receive and collect when you use SwissVistas.com, as well as some of the steps I take to safeguard your information. This will help you make an informed decision about sharing personal information through my website.
SwissVistas.com strives to maintain the highest standards of decency, fairness and integrity in all operations. Likewise, I am dedicated to protecting my customers' and online visitors' privacy on my website.
Why I Need To Collect Personally Identifiable Information
SwissVistas.com may collect and use your personal information for the following purposes:
- To run, operate and display information on my website correctly;
- To make sure your experience of using my site works properly;
- To improve customer service;
- To help me respond to your questions, inquiries and requests for support efficiently;
- To personalize your user experience;
- To understand how my users as a group use the services and resources provided on my site;
- To improve my site;
- To improve my products and services;
- To run a promotion, contest, survey or other site features;
- To send information to you that you agreed to receive about topics I think will be of interest to you;
- To send periodic emails, which may include electronic newsletters and/or autoresponder series of emails.
SwissVistas.com may collect personally identifiable information from you in a variety of ways, including, but not limited to, when you visit my site, register on the site, or fill out a form, and in connection with other activities, services, features or resources I make available on my site.
Specifically, when you subscribe to my newsletter through MailChimp, I will ask for your name and will require your email address to be able to send you the subscription. I keep that information for as long as you want to receive my newsletters. There is always an "unsubscribe" link in every newsletter I send. If you click on that link you will be immediately unsubscribed from my email list and your information will be permanently deleted.
If you complete the contact form or contact me to design a custom itinerary for you, I will require your name and your email address, and will ask for information relevant to the purpose of the form.
When you submit content for my website, for example share your own Switzerland experience, I will ask for your name and email address. Photos you include with your submission, or details in your submission, may personally identify you.
If you request to be notified about comments on any content you submit, or request to be notified when others submit content, I will require your name and your email address.
You can always refuse to supply personally identifiable information and visit my site anonymously. However, it may prevent you from engaging in certain site-related activities.
If I make material changes in the collection of personally identifiable information, I will inform you by placing a notice on my site. I will use personal information received from you for internal purposes only and will not sell it or provide it to third parties.
I also collect each visitor's IP address, which helps me combat spam and fraud. I do not use IP addresses for any other purpose.
I never collect personally identifiable information (that is, information which may identify you such as your name or email address) without your knowledge. If I ask for personal information it's because you have volunteered to give it to me, for example if you sign up for my online newsletter or get in touch through my contact or Itinerary service page.
In case you inquire for a service I cannot provide personally, I need to share your information with, for example, a tour operator, tour guide or other service provider. However, you will always be informed about it. I make sure I only use other individuals and companies I know and trust. I have also been careful to make sure they are compliant with the General Data Protection Regulation, so I am confident they will also keep your data safe.
As soon as our correspondence has finished, I delete all your personal information. I do not keep it or use it in any other way unless I ask your permission first.
The companies who may hold your information are:
- MailChimp when you subscribe to my Newsletter, a well-respected company that has to store your name and email address so that I can contact you. The service is provided by Rocket Science Group LLC, 675 Ponce De Leon Ave NE, Suite 5000, Atlanta, GA 30308, USA.;
- When you share your Switzerland experience with me and readers of my site, SiteSell, the company which hosts my website, stores your information securely on their servers;
- AlpenWild and EchoTrails are tour operators that I currently work with and they comply with the General Data Protection Regulation.
When you give me personal information, I give you a 100% promise in return that the information will be used only for the intended reason.
I hate spam. I will never send you any information you have not requested. Even if you opt to receive information (like the newsletter) when you sign up, you will always be able to unsubscribe from it.

In that event, you will receive notice through my website of that change in control and practices, and I will make reasonable efforts to ensure that the purchaser honors any opt-out requests you might make.
Personally identifiable information and non-personally identifiable information collected by this site is stored on my host's servers. That host is SiteSell Inc., located at 1000 Saint-Jean Boulevard, Suite 702, Pointe-Claire, QC H9R 5P1 Canada.
